Items of Interest:

School staff is now eligible to receive the COVID vaccine.  We have made plans with Family Health Center to provide vaccinations to staff that want the vaccine on March 17th .

As of March 31st the COVID leave will not be available.  If you are exposed or contract COVID and must miss work, you will need to take leave from sick leave balances.  This provision expired a few months ago but as a District we felt we needed to leave it in place until everyone had an opportunity to be vaccinated.

Starting April 12th, right after spring break, all students every day.

It is that time of year where we begin to plan for next year.  If you are planning to leave the district through retirement or just relocating to a different district, please let your building principal know as soon as possible.

In an effort to offer more electives and promote CTE Ag education with an emphasis on Farm Animals, we are posting a MS Ag. Position funded through Career and Technical.

Elementary Education positions have been posted.  Currently 5th grade and Primary grade is open.

The High School office remodel will begin with the contractor meeting this coming Thursday.  After the meeting, construction will begin with a timeline to finish prior to June 30th.

The survey of the new school property has started.  This is the first step toward relocating the school farm.  The property has been cleaned up with just a few piles left to burn.

6-12 ELPA Testing Schedule set for the Week of March 22-26

32 juniors and seniors took the In-School SAT on March 3rd.  This is not only a tool for college admissions, but it is also a Graduation Pathway.

Offer and cultivate rigorous and relevant learning opportunities.

Bridgeport School District will be offering (K-8) Summer School starting June 21st and running six weeks.  We will be holding two separate sessions per day, with students either attending the AM or PM session.  This extended time frame will allow us to help students recover some of the learning loss that has been experienced due to the pandemic and the two sessions let us reach twice as many students.  Reading will be the primary focus, as in years past, but there will also be substantial emphasis placed on Mathematics.  There will also be enrichment time offered daily.

Ripen strong community partnerships

Our grounds crew has been doing the fire clean up on the school farm and is near complete.  The new school farm will be placed on the new property over the upcoming year.

The financial audit started this week.
